Title: Writing a New Chapter of Chinese-Style Modernization on the New Journey: Interpretation of the Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China

Speaker: Zhu Penghua, Associate Researcher of the School of Economics, Shandong University. He mainly engages in scientific research and teaching in political economy. He has published monographs such as Expanded Research on Marx's Theory of Social Capital Reproduction, China's New Urbanization Path, and Mechanisms and Paths of Urban-Rural Integrated Development in the New Era; he has published more than 40 papers in newspapers and periodicals such as Studies on Marxism, Reform, and Guangming Daily, many of which have been reprinted by China Social Sciences Abstracts and "Renmin University Copy Materials"; he presides over 10 scientific research projects at or above the provincial and ministerial level including the National Social Science Fund; he has won awards or honorary titles such as the First Prize in the National Informatization Teaching Competition, Excellent Instructor in the National College Student Mathematical Modeling Competition, First Prize in the Teaching Innovation Competition of Shandong University, and Young Teaching Expert of Shandong University.

Abstract: Standing at a new historical starting point, the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has painted a grand blueprint for development during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, and systematically answered major theoretical and practical questions such as "what to do, how to do it, and for whom" in the new development stage. This strategic deployment embodying the wisdom of the whole Party not only addresses current development challenges but also seeks long-term strategic initiative, serving as an action program and fundamental guideline for us to write a new chapter of Chinese-style modernization on the new journey. The lecture will interpret the historical background, spiritual essence of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, as well as the key tasks for China's high-quality development during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period.
