Title: IV with Anticipation

Abstract: This lecture synthesizes Prof. Pantano's research work. He collaborated with Prof. Ichimura to propose a new causal inference framework that uses instrumental variables for analysis when individuals are forward-looking.

Speaker: Prof. Juan Pantano, Professor of Economics at the Business School, The University of Hong Kong. Before moving to Hong Kong, Prof. Pantano held academic positions at Washington University in St. Louis, Stony Brook University, and the University of Arizona, and served as Deputy Director of Research at the Center for the Economics of Human Development at the University of Chicago. His research results have been published in journals such as American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Economics and Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Journal of Human Resources, and Journal of Population Economics.
