Recruitment of Postdoctoral Researcher from the School of Economics at Shandong University, China
Shandong University, the key comprehensive “Double First-Class” university in the Chinese mainland, launches its Postdoctoral Researcher Program to attract promising researchers and educators in diverse disciplines and educational backgrounds home and abroad endeavoring to increase the academic influence and contributions internationally. As the participating school, the School of Economics is actively seeking to attract high-level economists with strong background in economic theory and/or expertise in empirical research.
The School of Economics comprises five departments, that is, the Department of Economics, the Department of Public Finance, the Department of Finance, the Department of International Economics and Trade, and the Department of Risk Management and Insurance. Almost one third of school faculty obtained their doctoral degrees from leading universities abroad. In recent five years, fruitful academic papers have been published in the top peer-reviewed international journals, such as Journal of Financial Economics, Management Science, Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Games and Economic Behavior, Journal of Econometrics.
The School of Economics invites applications for several positions as Postdoctoral Researcher in but not limited to the areas of Public Economics, International Economics, Finance, Insurance, Economic Theory, Industrial Organization and Antitrust for up to two years. The working location is Jinan, China.
The researcher is expected to conduct independent research, engage with other researchers, teach English courses, attend / help organize seminars and collaborate with other research projects in the School of Economics. The researcher will receive the mid-term assessment and final assessment during the two-year research. Qualified researcher has the career prospects for an assistant professor, associate professor or professor appointment in Shandong University after two-year contract.
Application Time
The postdoctoral researcher position is open to the candidates all year round and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
Eligibility
- Candidates should be under the age of 35 with potential research ability and good academic ethnic.
- Candidates must have received their PhD in economics/finance from a leading university in recent three years.
Candidates with outstanding research achievements during their doctoral study and prospective, innovative and feasible postdoctoral research proposal will be highly competitive. Candidates who have received the support from the high-level Chinese national research funds will be on the top priority of recruitment and are expected to receive the highest remuneration package.
Awards
1. Specially-funded Postdoctoral Researcher will receive
- A gross salary of no less than RMB300,000 (pre-tax) a year.
- Benefits package including the housing rental, medical, fundamental education and etc..
- A start-up research fund of no less than RMB20,000.
- Application for an additional subsidy of RMB5,000 per month from postdoctoral programs funded by the local government in Jinan.
2. Key-funded Postdoctoral Researcher will receive
- A gross salary of no less than RMB200,000 (pre-tax) a year.
- Benefits package including the housing rental, medical, fundamental education and etc..
- A start-up research fund of no less than RMB20,000.
- Application for an additional subsidy of RMB5,000 per month from postdoctoral programs funded by the local government in Jinan.
3. Project-funded Postdoctoral Researcher will receive
- A gross salary of no less than RMB120,000 (pre-tax) a year.
- Rental of a two bed-room apartment close to campus at a reduced price
- A start-up research fund of no less than RMB10,000.
- Application for an additional subsidy of RMB5,000 per month from postdoctoral programs funded by the local government in Jinan.
